On Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 8 am PT/ 11 am ET, Peregrine’s director of system integration Peter Bacon will lead a Microwave Journal webinar titled, “Linearity: The Key to Successful Data Transmission in Cable & Beyond.”
Today’s high-speed wireless and wired access schemes continue to stress the quality of the RF channel used in the transmission and reception of complex modulated waveforms. Many of today’s communications systems validate Shannon’s theories of capacity limit. Digital data is encoded by modulating analog signals and then faithfully transmitted in the assigned bandwidth. Minimizing the non-linear mechanisms within a given function of an RF channel will better support the ever-increasing signal fidelity demands being placed on today’s networks. This webinar will focus on recent linearity requirements for digital transmission schemes and how UltraCMOS® technology is uniquely able to support the increased linearity performance.
Those who attend will garner:
• A brief review of several common linearity metrics
• Linearity’s importance to increased data rates
• The resulting impact of increased linearity on network operation
• The importance of various linearity metrics on the communication link fidelity
• A specific focus on how this applies to DOCSIS 3.1 spectrum partitioning requirements
