[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Peregrine’s co-founder and CTO Ron Reedy gave the following presentation at a San Diego IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) event in October 2013. In this video, which is part 4 of his talk, “Commercializing Silicon on Sapphire (SOS) & Changing an Industry,” Reedy shows it’s hard to compare one technology or methodology to another. For entrepreneurs, it’s a critical component to introducing a novel technology and positioning it for dominance. Here are Reedy’s tips for making a technology company successful.
- Be absolutely convinced that your technology is better than the competition — even when the chips are down.
- Believe with certaintly that competitor technology is worse than yours.
- Pioneers should forget about cost and instead performance and value. Later, volume will drive down cost.
Based on these principals, Reedy covers the history of CMOS and its move from expensive, military technology to — against all odds — the dominant platform for today’s RF semiconductors.
